We recently supplied some t-shirts to Leeds City Council for their National Disability Tag Rugby Festival.

Tag Rugby is a minimal contact version of the sport, excluding scrums, line-outs or tackling. Tackles are made by removing material tags attached to each players belt and the game requires a lot of skill.

Organised by Leeds City Council’s Sport Development Unit, and supported by both the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the Rugby Football League (RFL) the festival took place at the home of Leeds Rugby, Headingly Carnegie Stadium.

The event was aimed at ambulant players with a learning disability and or moderate physical or sensory impairment and allows the opportunity to enjoy the game of tag rugby against other groups. Teams comprised of seven people and up to three substitutes with twenty two teams competing throughout the day.

The festivals aim is to promote both codes involved in Rugby Union and Rugby League as well as national disabled sport and the festival is the conclusion of coaching programmes with all groups.

We supplied the t-shirts that were worn on the day by officials and organisers of the event.

Andrew Wilson, Rugby League Development Officer at Leeds City Council said, “The customer service and quality of the products from Creative Emporium are again outstanding and the staff and players at the National Disability Tag Rugby Festival wore the t-shirts with pride.”
