JAMES SHAWGROUP MARKETING EXECUTIVE
"OUR GREATEST GLORY IS NOT IN NEVER FALLING, BUT IN RISING EVERY TIME WE FALL"
…is our perpetual podcaster with an expertise in Chinese. He is half Irish but until recently had never visited the Emerald Isles. At the age of eight his obsession with everything Chinese began and at 16 James visited China for the first time. He studied Chinese Language at the University of Central Lancashire and spent two years living in both mainland China and Taiwan teaching English and completing his sandwich year. Upon his return to the UK James dabbled in recruitment, but found his feet in marketing in a Financial Services firm before joining our team. These days he goes by the title of Group Marketing Executive where his day to day duties involve compiling a library of marketing collateral and then working with our design department to make everything come to life. James helps develop multi-channel strategies (both online and offline), produces content for our marketing collateral and online campaigns and assists the social media team with their strategic plans. Away from the office, when he’s not reading books or strength training at the gym you might find him tuning in for a bit more Chinese television – mostly for fear of losing his party trick of busting out the Mandarin.

Nicci later landed herself a role as a BA cabin crew member which gave her lots of experience working with customers and solving problems in a literally and figuratively speaking high pressure situation. These days Nicci is thinking on her feet, solving problems, writing up quotes and giving amazing customer service. She could be sourcing a giant gumball machine one day to seeking out items to entertain children at a conference the next.
